One of the questions we are often asked by first-time guests visiting Kalkan is, “How do you get to the beach clubs — and where are they?” Many people have heard about them or had them recommended by friends, but aren’t quite sure how they work. In reality, they’re wonderfully easy to access — and once you’ve found your favourite, it will likely become a regular part of your stay.
Some beach clubs offer complimentary sunbeds and parasols, while others may charge a small fee, but all offer a relaxed and welcoming setting — and are very much a highlight of time spent in Kalkan.
Location and how to get there
Kalkan has around seven beach clubs dotted around the bay. Each offers sunbathing platforms with direct access into the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea, along with facilities such as restaurants, bars and changing areas.
On the far side of the bay, the beach clubs benefit from longer hours of sunshine, as the sun sets opposite — allowing you to enjoy the day right through to the evening. These can be reached easily by taking one of the small water taxis from the harbour. Boats run regularly throughout the day, with the first departures typically from around 9am and returning into the early evening during the summer months.
If you prefer not to walk down to the harbour, a short taxi ride will take you there with ease.
On the Kalkan side of the bay, several beach clubs are accessible either on foot or via a shuttle service arranged directly with the club. Yalı Beach Club, for example, is within walking distance from many properties, while others can organise pick-up and drop-off for you on request.
A day at one of Kalkan’s beach clubs is effortless. Simply take what you need for the day, settle into a sunbed, and enjoy the rhythm of the coast — cooling off in the sea, pausing for a leisurely lunch, and spending the afternoon relaxing in the sun.
