Turkey Abolishes Tourist Visa Fee for UK Travellers
Great news for anyone planning a holiday to Turkey! As of 2nd March 2020, British travellers visiting Turkey for tourism will no longer need to pay the $35 per person visa fee. This welcome change means your money can now go that little bit further during your Turkish holiday, whether you’re relaxing on the sun-soaked beaches, exploring ancient ruins, or discovering vibrant local markets.
The decision, announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara, confirms:
“As of 2 March 2020, Turkey has decided to exempt visa requirements for the members of the European Union Schengen area, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland as well as the United Kingdom citizens for touristic travels to Turkey for every 90 days within 180 day period.”
This update makes it even easier for UK holidaymakers to enjoy Turkey’s beautiful coastal resorts such as Kalkan, Kas, Fethiye, and Bodrum, as well as Istanbul’s cultural treasures and Cappadocia’s otherworldly landscapes — all without the added cost or paperwork of applying for a visa.
