Rental Periods
Subject to availability rental can start on any day of the week
The minimum rental period is one day
For two days rental, double the daily rate
For rental between 4–6 days, divide the 3-day figure by 3 and multiply by the required number of days
For rental above 7 days, divide the 7-day figure by 7 and proceed as before.
Full Insurance Cover is Provided
Our rates include unlimited mileage, insurance in compliance with Turkish law, collision damage waiver and government tax.
It is usual in Turkey that this insurance does not include damage to lights, windscreens, and tyres with an excess insurance made available locally to cover this.
No Additional Charges
Our dedicated Discerning Collection Car Hire Service has been created to provide a hassle-free service for our own Guests. In our opinion one of the most irritating aspects of hiring a car is the inconsistency of additional charge policies. We are therefore delighted to present the following confirmation of additional charges within our dedicated service:

Special notes:
*Major Accident Damage: As is usual any necessary reports must be obtained for ‘major’ incidents. Clear information is provided in situ and our local team will provide assistance if required.
**Petrol at end of rental: Please return the vehicle with full tank. A charge will be made if the tank is not full but this will be exactly as the petrol station receipt states with no penalty charge.
Delivery
All vehicles will be delivered by 10:00 and collected at approximately 18:00 (therefore 7 days rental = 6.5 days use etc)
Backup Service
Should you have the misfortune to have an accident or mechanical breakdown and you are in the general local area – a replacement vehicle will be provided within 6-12 hours (sooner whenever possible)
In the event you are further afield, a rescue service to fix the vehicle on the spot will be actioned quickly. If the vehicle cannot be fixed, you will be driven back to your property and a replacement vehicle provided as above.
Please note: Subject to availability the replacement vehicle might be of a lower category until the original vehicle is again available.
Drivers
Drivers must be a minimum of 21 for cars and 25 for jeeps.
Two drivers may be named per vehicle and must always travel with a full driving licence, passport and vehicle papers.
Additional drivers can be added for a minimal cost (paid locally).
Safety
All vehicles have seat belts. The middle rear seat belt in a five-seat vehicle is a lap belt.
Driving is on the right hand side of the road and the infrastructure is generally good, though you do occasionally come across all manner of slow-moving farm vehicles!
Drop-off Charges
Vehicles will be delivered and collected to/from your original coastal property without additional charge. Should you require your vehicle to be collected from a differing location the following charges are applicable: *There is a charge for delivery or collection from Dalaman airport if your rental is for 7 days or less. This charge is £30.

Please note: Back seat places can be utilised by either Car Seats or Booster Seats, or a combination to a maximum of back-seat places available. Child Car Seats are available for a charge of £10 per rental. These seats are of a ‘one size fits all’ design suitable for a child weighing up to 16kg – should you have any concerns we recommend you bring your own.
Getting Out & About
Kalkan is ideally located for exploration of the Lycian coast, whether by dolmuş, taxi, car or on foot.
By Dolmuş
Dolmuş are little mini-buses, and they’re a colourful feature of Turkish life. They’re also the cheapest way to get about. Dolmuş means ‘stuffed’ and you’ll soon appreciate how apt the name is when you see one in action! They tend to fill up quite quickly, especially on market days when it seems as if the whole world piles in – livestock and all. Dolmuş run from early morning to late evening over a specified route to the destination displayed on the front windscreen, or as announced by a boy on the bus (who will also collect your fare). There are no dolmuş stops – just stand on the side of the road and flag one down. At the point where you wish to get off, you’ll need to exclaim ‘Inmek istiyorum’ meaning ‘I want to get off’. If this seems too intimidating, the drivers will usually respond to a loud, ‘Stop, please!’ Please be warned that the local dolmuş service can be somewhat irregular.
The dolmuş (mini-buses) run from the centre of Kalkan to Patara beach/ Kaputaş beach. The larger buses go to nearby towns like Kaş and Fethiye and depart from the bus station at the top of the town. Dolmuş also run from this bus station, but it’s generally more convenient to use the dolmuş stop in the centre of Kalkan if you want to go to Patara or Kaputaş beach.

By Taxi
Taxis are in plentiful supply and are easily identified. The bright yellow taxis operate either a meter system (with a supplement after midnight) or a fixed tariff. It’s a good idea to agree the price in advance if it’s not a metered taxi.
