Arguably the most luxurious and stylish resort in the whole of Sicily, is Taormina. Adorned with ‘olde worlde’ ornate villas, bougainvillea-clad buildings and palm trees, majestic Etna is forever present, watching over this elegant town.
Taormina boasts a fabulous collection of upmarket hotels, an elegant and fashionable town centre teeming with shops and restaurants without forgetting the timeless Greek amphitheatre with its unforgettable views as it reaches towards the snow-capped peak of Mount Etna.
Incredible vistas abound throughout and wherever you decide to stay, you will be enchanted by your surroundings. If you do manage to drag yourself away from this opulent splendour, a stay or at least a visit further south to Siracusa or Ortigia is a must, or take a hydrofoil to the Aeolian Islands, or, for the more adventurous, a trip up Mount Etna itself.
The North East corner of Sicily, and in and around Castroreale – the island’s oldest town, provides an insight into the ‘real’ Sicily. Rolling hills and valleys are backed by the Nebrodi Mountains, whilst the coast beckons with Greek remains at Tindari, beautiful beaches and the fascinating offshore volcanic Aeolian Islands just waiting to be explored.

We have a small selection of hotels in Taormina and also the fertile countryside surrounding magnificent Mount Etna.
In Taormina itself, we feature the opulent Ashbee Hotel, recently awarded a Michelin star for its fine dining restaurant. Villa Angela is a charming boutique hotel with magnificent views from all angles. NH Collection Taormina is a more modern hotel, with possibly the best views in town from the roof terrace, and the Monte Tauro Hotel with is huge pool, modern rooms, all with sea view is a great choice for families.
Whichever you choose, all of our hotels are within easy reach of the many wonderful shops, restaurants and trattorias in Taormina.
We also have some beautiful countryside retreats at the foothills of Mount Etna, perfect for exploring the surrounding vineyards, and of course Mount Etna itself! These stunning restored country homes have been sympathetically restored retaining many original features including natural volcanic stone wine cellars and olive oil presses.
