The pretty Greek Island of Meis or Kastellorizo in Greek, lies just a 25 minute boat journey across the water from Kaş. The initial journey to Kas harbour is a 30min drive. Once in Meis you will have around 3-4 hours to meander through the narrow streets marvelling at the pretty houses. There is also a Church and museum if you wish to learn more about the history of Meis. If you do nothing else be sure to stroll along the waterfront and have lunch or just a refreshing drink. Most of the bistros and cafes along the waterfront serve locally produced fresh food. At the furthest side of the harbour are bathing platforms and steps directly into the crystal clear sea for anyone wishing to take a dip. Please remember to take your passport and Euros which can be obtained from certain Kalkan ATM machines or there is an ATM in Meis itself. Turkish Lira is not generally accepted.
