Lapaz Koy Walk

An easy walk to a small village that is blanketed in vines during the summer months. To get to the start of this walk a car is needed. Drive out of Kalkan in the Fethiye direction and turn right towards Islamlar when you reach Akbel. Follow this road for 2 kilometres after which you reach a fork in the road where you should turn right. Follow this uphill road for approximately 3 kilometres. Just after passing a couple of restaurants on the right you will reach a cemetery. With the cemetery on your right take a left turn on a narrow road and follow this road for approximately 1.3 kilometres until you reach three villas on a junction. Take the road uphill to the right behind the villas and around the next bend you will see some big wooden gates on the right. This is a good place to [park and start from. Follow the road ahead of you through the pine forest for about a half an hour until you reach the next village, Lapaz. On the way, you have tremendous views over Patara plain/ Xanthos valley and across to Patara beach in the distance. All along the route it is under the shade of pine trees. Lapaz is a small village and you will see one of its main products are the vines that cove the village. To walk down into the village, take a left at the tree in the road and walk downhill to the village.
