Set on the hillside above Assos, one of Kefalonia’s most enchanting villages, Villa Nikolis is a graceful three-bedroom retreat at Braunis Horio that captures the island’s seafaring spirit. Arranged across four levels, Villa Nikolis has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of its elevated position. The entrance opens into a modern, fully equipped kitchen and a convenient shower room, while a few steps lead down to the open-plan living and dining area. Here, wide glass doors draw you out to a magnificent terrace, where the Ionian Sea shimmers as far as the eye can see.

Outdoors, life revolves around the striking infinity pool and its broad stone terrace, where sunloungers invite long, lazy afternoons. To one side, a built-in barbecue and shaded pergola create the perfect setting for al fresco dinners as the sun slips behind the horizon; to the other, an open terrace provides a quiet corner for reading, daydreaming, or simply absorbing the endless blue.

Each of the villa’s three bedrooms has its own character and outlook. The master double opens onto a private balcony with uninterrupted sea views, while the twin bedroom and family shower room are set just above. At the top of the house, a spacious double nestles beneath vaulted wooden ceilings, with large windows framing the Ionian in all its brilliance.

For those drawn to the water, a private pathway winds steeply down the garden to a rock platform at the sea’s edge. From here, adventurous swimmers can reach a hidden beach, usually accessible only by boat—a rare treasure that makes a stay at Villa Nikolis all the more memorable.
