Casa Mae
Located in the delightful streets of Lagos and within sight of the sea, the charming and classy Casa Mae hotel is the brain child of a French investment banker, Veronique Polaert. Together with interior designer Martin Blanchard, she has created a ‘Portuguese elegance’ that is relaxed, functional, discreet and very easy on the eye.
The service is top notch and the property boasts 34 beautifully decorated rooms. Six are in the original 19th century house, four cabanas in the gardens, two further two bedroom houses which share a swimming pool (perfect for two families travelling together) and in the new Joqo da Bola building are twenty two more lovely rooms. Each building offers a slightly different style, from minimalistic, boho chic to classic vintage, something for everyone!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in the stylish Orta restaurant which has an excellent reputation for its large range of local produce for breakfast and its fine dining options for dinner.
Whilst children are more that welcome here, the ambience of the hotel leans more to couples looking for excellence in service and in the quality of rooms.
