A Typical Week Aboard
There is no real routine or set itinerary, albeit that most trips start and finish in Corfu!, though it is possible to head further south and end in Kefalonia, but our prices shown are for the trips starting and ending in Corfu.
There is no set routine on how to spend your time on board your luxury yacht, but certainly whilst it is ideal for relaxing there are still plenty of things to do!
We find a typical day consists of breakfast in harbour, followed by a quick dip whilst the crew prepare the yacht to move. Before lunch there is plenty of time for swimming, exploring or making good use of the watersports. After lunch, the breeze tends to pick up, so its time to bring out the sails and go for it!.. a truly exhilarating experience. When the engine is off and the yacht is propelling itself by means of mother nature, it’s difficult not to find it thrilling. After the sail, we tend to head to the evenings mooring for one last dip before dinner.
There are also some beautiful walks to enjoy. The Paxos Islands in particular are wonderful to explore by foot and as relatively small, are possible to explore over a few days. A lovely way to see more of the islands is to ask the crew to drop you off on shore, you can then follow the old tracks along the coast, where the crew will pick you up further along.
A typical day will involve a leisurely breakfast whilst anchored at one of the islands, then move to a different anchorage for perhaps some water-sports, followed by lunch on board and then have some fun sailing as normally in the afternoon the winds will have picked up. Late afternoon, you will move towards your evening destination and either head into the harbour for dinner or have dinner on board.
Sailing is naturally weather dependent. The Captain will check the forecast, before and during the trip and plan the route accordingly. He will go through the expected route with you taking into consideration what you prefer to do, ie lots of sailing or hopping between secluded bays.
Most trips do start and finish in Corfu and will cruise the Northern Ionian Islands. For those guests wishing to do more miles or explore a bit further, there is the option to head a little further south and explore the Southern Ionian and finish in perhaps Kefalonia. However, the prices shown on our website include a 7 night stay from Saturday to Saturday and starting and finishing in Corfu.
An example of a popular itinerary
Day 1 – Welcome Aboard
Arrive and settle in. As sitting in the marina is not so fun, we aim to head out as soon as possible to find a nice place to anchor for a late afternoon swim, followed by a relaxing dinner on board.
Day 2 – Corfu
We may explore a bit of Corfu before heading to the mainland for the evening. A beautiful piece of protected water behind Corfu enables you to get used to the Yacht before enjoying an exhilarating sail to the mainland coast.
Day 3 – Sailing!
By now hopefully you have settled into life on board! – Sail to Paxos and Anti-Paxos, and marvel at how well your beautiful yacht harnesses the wind almost gliding between the islands. Stop over in Lakka, for the bluest water, or maybe Gaios for a cosmopolitan evening in town.
Day 4 – Paxos
The Paxos islands are a truly phenomenal playground for yachts. With caves, coves and beaches galore – all within a short hop of each other – so you can spend all day exploring them. Perhaps choose today to stay on board and have dinner cooked by our the chef.
Day 5 – Sleepy
As you have spent a few days exploring, this evening you could enjoy a quiet stop in Longos. – A very sleepy town on the Paxos Islands and often overlooked for being so small. With a few exceptional restaurants, a beach bar best accessed by paddleboard! and some lovely boutique shops.
Day 6 – North
Sail back towards Corfu, surfing the waves and enjoying the powerful yacht. You may stop at Petriti, a working fishing village on Corfu, with some of the freshest fish to be found. Either choose to go ashore to one of the renowned seafood tavernas or simply hail a fisherman first thing in the morning.
Day 7 – Corfu
For your last evening, the crew can take you to the UNESCO jewel of Corfu, the Old Town, or to the famous Durrells ‘White House’ taverna. A lovely final evening before disembarking the next morning.
This is just one typical week, however we are able to offer other itineraries especially if you wish to end your week in Kefalonia, simply let us know and we can send you details.
