Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands and home to some of the most dramatic scenery, with winding mountain roads that take you up through sweet-smelling Pine and Cypress forests and down to picturesque harbour villages, spectacular beaches and secluded coves.

The capital of Argostoli, attractively restored after the earthquake in 1953 is a hive of activity in the summer months when friends and family congregate around the main square and while away an evening people watching with their infamous frappes. Katavothres, also in the south of the island is a natural phenomenon where seawater disappears into shallow holes and reappears on the other side of the island in Melissani Lake, a mystery that has never really been solved and well worth a visit.

Lord Byron once quoted whilst residing on Kefalonia “If I am a poet then I owe it to the air of Greece” and this love of the island sums up the feelings of most of our guests; once they have experienced Kefalonia and its beauty it makes it somewhere they know they will return too.
